Lanark Lodge, a long-term care home serving more than 160 residents in Lanark County, required a temporary food production facility while renovations and upgrades were completed in its permanent kitchen.

Maintaining consistent meal service was essential. Residents depended on the dietary team for reliable daily meals prepared according to their nutritional and care requirements. The temporary facility therefore needed to support ongoing food preparation, provide the necessary cooking and cold-storage capabilities, and meet applicable health and safety requirements throughout the renovation.

Our Solution

Mobile Kitchens Canada supplied a fully equipped 28' mobile kitchen trailer to serve as Lanark Lodge’s primary food preparation facility during the renovation.

The unit was strategically positioned on-site and connected to the required utilities, providing commercial cooking, preparation, refrigeration, and cold-storage capabilities. This allowed the dietary team to continue preparing resident meals close to the care home while its permanent kitchen was unavailable.

Mobile Kitchens Canada coordinated delivery, positioning, installation, utility-connection support, commissioning, and operational testing. Staff orientation and ongoing technical support were also provided to help ensure a smooth transition into the temporary kitchen and back to the renovated facility upon project completion.
